Rian was a wonderful instant friend, and I will always fondly remember our inspiring and entertaining chats, getting to know him well at the first Urban Futures conference in Graz and most of all the philosophically and culinarily intriguing lunches we had in Bonn over the years. Rest in peace Rian, you may be gone but never forgotten!
